Since 1927, the Coronado Performing Arts Center has played host to incredible artists, shows, concerts, and events. The Coronado is an atmospheric style theatre and movie palace – complete with Spanish castles, Italian villas, oriental dragons, starlit skies and a Grande Barton Pipe Organ. Discovery Center Museum is a hands-on children’s science museum with more than 300 exciting interactive exhibits. All exhibits relate to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math). Galleries focus on the human body, forms of electricity, the science of sports, space travel, simple machines, communication, agriculture, color and light, and math. Out in the museum’s backyard, visitors can explore our Rock River Discovery Park, a 15,000 square foot multi-level science park featuring a dinosaur dig pit, maze, water play area and a Secret Garden. Juju Rey’s Art Clubhouse is a vibrant hub of creativity and joy! Families can immerse themselves in exciting artsy fun and thrilling video games. Our doors are open on Mondays (1-5pm), Thursdays to Fridays (3-8pm), Saturdays for special events or all day (1-8pm – check our blog calendar for updates), and Sundays (1-5pm) for a dose of artistic inspiration! Nicholas Conservatory and Gardens is situated along the banks of our beautiful Rock River, bringing the tropics to the Midwest. The facility is the third largest conservatory in Illinois, offering an 11,000-square-foot plant exhibition area complete with water features, seating areas, and sculptures, all in a tropical plant setting. The beauty continues outdoors with the Eclipse Lagoon, complete with two fountains and a waterfall, pedestrian bridge, patio areas, and walkway connecting the Conservatory to the Sinnissippi Rose Garden. Rockford Art Museum boasts a diverse yet concise collection, acclaimed modern galleries, museum store, office, studios and classrooms.
