| FREEThis year’s tour will feature even more in-depth stories about the people who built and lived in the historic homes of Haight Village, offering a fascinating look into the neighborhood’s rich past. Tour guide Gary Anderson, who is currently writing a book on the history and architecture of Haight Village, will share new research, captivating stories, and historical insights that highlight the individuals and events that helped shape our community.
Throughout the tour, participants will also learn about the unique architectural styles, design elements, and craftsmanship that make Haight Village such a distinctive neighborhood, while exploring how these influences have shaped residential architecture over the years. Whether you’re a history enthusiast, architecture lover, or simply curious about one of Rockford’s most historic neighborhoods, this tour offers a unique opportunity to experience Haight Village from a new perspective.
The guided tour will last approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. Please see the attached tour map for the walking route.
📍 Begins at the corner of S. 1st Street and Oak Street, in Ingersoll Park
Donations are welcome. Participants are not required to sign-up in advance. The tour is guided by knowledgeable host, Gary Anderson, AIA, Studio GWA founder.
