Step back in time and discover the powerful history of Camp Grant, one of the nation’s most significant World War training grounds. This guided tour explores the camp’s lasting impact through historic photographs, visits to key sites, and engaging community discussion that brings the stories of the soldiers and the local community to life. Along the way, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of Camp Grant’s role in American history and its connection to the Rockford area.

The walking tour covers approximately eight blocks and lasts about 1 hour and 15 minutes, so participants are encouraged to wear comfortable walking shoes and dress appropriately for the weather.

📍Begins at International Parking Lot, Chicago-Rockford Airport

Donations are welcome. Participants are not required to sign-up in advance. The tour is guided by knowledgeable host, Gary Anderson, AIA, Studio GWA founder.
