ROCKFORD, Illinois – The River District Association is pleased to announce the second annual Melt the Blocks shopping and dining event. Held downtown, the River District encourages the
community to come downtown and celebrate the warmer temperatures and business owners who are ready to welcome them with special sales and deals.

Melt the Blocks was started as a way to accompany the long standing tradition of Meltfest, which draws crowds of up to 5,000 to downtown every spring.

“The partnership is meant to encourage participants to melt away winter and melt together the community, while shopping and playing downtown,” said Rebecca Nunes, Marketing Chair for the River District Association. “Melt the Blocks focuses on the retail portion of the event, promoting sales and in-store activities in the River District area.”

Join the fun March 23 from noon to 5 p.m. in downtown Rockford at multiple participating retailers and restaurants. Melt the Blocks fliers will be displayed in their storefronts.
