ROCKFORD, Illinois – The River District Association is pleased to announce “Spook the Blocks,” a downtown Halloween themed event to get the whole family in the spirit, returns on Saturday, October 27, 1-3pm, in downtown Rockford.

This free event encourages everyone to dress up and come downtown for an afternoon of strolling, or spooking, our blocks and more. Costumes are encouraged.

Participating businesses will be designated by an orange pumpkin poster in their front window and that is how people will know where the treats are! We ask that children be accompanied by an adult/parent or guardian at all times. Don’t forget to check our Facebook Page for Spook the Blocks specials provided by River District retailers for this event only!

“While downtown we invite people to lengthen their stay and spend time in our unique retail shops and our wonderful restaurants that make downtown Rockford so special,” said Missy Minnaert, River District Association Executive Director.
